Leigh Winchcombe

Recently qualified through Swindon-based T2 Fitness, Leigh is a new addition to the team at Washbourne House and brings a passion for fitness and mental health.

Leigh “fell” into fitness in 2018 as a way to overcome the stresses and strains of working in financial services. At the time the combination of a high-pressured work environment alongside significant life changes led to Leigh’s mental health being negatively impacted. She found that focusing on physical well-being helped to improve her mental state, build confidence and enabled her to meet new people. Off the back of this new-found enjoyment of fitness, and understanding the benefits it has to individuals, she sought to gain further knowledge of the fitness industry to deepen her own understanding.

Leigh found that her story was touching the lives of others she knew who were going through similar situations. Her enthusiasm for fitness and well-being was inspiring others to make changes to their lives. She realised she could make a difference using her new qualifications and sharing of her personal experience.

As a qualified Level 2 Fitness Instructor, as well as having a specialised Level 3 qualification in pre- and post-natal exercise adaptation, Leigh is looking to make a positive impact on the community and make fitness accessible for everyone.

The goal of the sessions is to take the intimidation factor out of fitness and have classes that are truly open to everyone from all backgrounds and fitness levels. Whether this is your first step towards a healthier lifestyle, you are looking to build on your existing fitness levels, or are new to the area and want to meet people in a fun and active setting, Leigh’s classes have something for everyone.
