Faye Hutchins

Faye of FMH Fitness qualified in 2014 as a Personal Trainer, and since then she has achieved several other qualifications which have led to her offering specialised classes at Washbourne House. One of these qualifications included a Level 3 in Nutrition and Weight Management.

Research into nutrition is something that she finds truly fascinating. We live in a world where people are often easily led by social media, unqualified 'influencers' and the latest fad diet. She believes it is important that opportunities are given to people to learn from evidence-based research, to be able to separate fact from fiction. Knowledge is power, after all.

Faye is also very passionate about having a 'holistic' approach to nutrition. It is so important that we do not simply focus on the foods that someone consumes and use their weight as a marker of good/bad health. When working with her clients, she focusses on their lifestyle as a whole and how this may influence their nutritional choices. Things such as shift work, lack of sleep, hormonal imbalances, medical conditions, limited nutrition knowledge – they all play a huge part in our food choices, but often are not considered.

'Mindful' or 'Intuitive' eating is something which is also of great interest to her. She believes that there is a lot to be said for trusting yourself and listening to your own body; being able to recognise the difference between true hunger or feeding emotion, finishing a meal when you are full (not just when the plate is empty), but being able to do so without feelings of restriction. This mindful approach to nutrition is something which she is currently studying with 'EIQ Nutrition'.

Her focus is simple "I wish to empower people with the knowledge to make the best nutritional choices for good health, without restriction. Food plays a huge part in social events and is something which should be enjoyed without feelings of guilt. If you’d like support in making better nutritional choices for good health, without removing your favourite foods, I am more than happy to help ".
